DALLAS (Sept. 20, 2018) –
Darrian Palacios got on the board late for Oklahoma Christian, but the Lady Eagles fell 5-1 on Thursday at Dallas Baptist (Texas).
Longtime Heartland Conference power DBU (4-2-1, 3-0 Heartland) jumped ahead quickly, with Delaney Schmidt scoring in the second minute. Gabrielle Heller gave the Patriots a 2-0 lead right before halftime, when the game was delayed for 86 minutes due to lightning in the area.
When play finally resumed, Dallas Baptist picked up goals from Katelyn Havard in the 54th minute, Ericca Everson in the 64th minute and Jayme Woodfill in the 71st minute. The Patriots outshot OC 27-4.
Palacios, a senior from Yukon, scored an unassisted goal in the 88th minute for OC (0-6, 0-3). It was the third career goal for Palacios.

Addison Milner posted her second straight double-digit-save performance, making a season-high 11 stops. She leads the Heartland in saves with 42 this season. Dallas Baptist goalkeepers Hope Koym and Grace Johnson each played one half, with Johnson recording the Patriots' lone save in the second half.
The Lady Eagles will head south to Austin, Texas, to face St. Edward's on Saturday afternoon.
