OKLAHOMA CITY (Oct. 6, 2018) – Two Lubbock Christian (Texas) players scored two goals apiece as the Chaparrals beat Oklahoma Christian 6-0 on a soggy Saturday afternoon at the Eagle Soccer Field.
Makenna Pate and Allison Scott each had a brace for Lubbock Christian (5-7, 4-4 Heartland Conference), while Scott had two assists and Stephanie Renteria had three.
In a game that started with rain falling intermittently before tailing off, Lubbock Christian scored in the seventh minute, with Arely Jimenez doing the honors. The Chaparrals used a three-goal burst late in the first half to go ahead 4-0, with Pate (38th minute), Haley Knesek (42nd minute) and Allison Scott (43rd minute) scoring.
Pate's second goal came in the 47th minute and Scott finished the scoring in the 62nd minute for the Chaparrals, who outshot OC 35-12.
Sophomore
Brianna Concienne led OC offensively with three shots, while
Lauren Parker and
Addy Gibbs took two shots each.
OC goalkeeper
Addison Milner followed her 15-save outing on Thursday at Rogers State with a nine-save performance against Lubbock Christian. She has a league-leading 81 saves this season.
Two goalkeepers split time for Lubbock Christian, with Hannah Wise recording three saves and Tory Hudgens making two.
OC (0-11, 0-8) will travel to south Texas next week to face St. Mary's (Texas) on Thursday and Texas A&M International on Saturday.
