Box Score OKLAHOMA CITY (Dec. 31, 2015) – It wasn't the end to 2015 that Oklahoma Christian wanted.
Four Texas A&M International players scored in double figures and the Dustdevils led all the way in beating OC 74-53 on New Year's Eve night in the Eagles' Nest.
John Moon had 19 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots for OC (3-7, 0-2 Heartland Conference), but the Eagles had only one other player score in double figures –
Cameron Peters, who had 10 points off the bench. OC shot 33.3 percent from the field (16 of 48), committed 19 turnovers and seemed out of sorts all night.
Denzel Bellot, who led TAMIU (8-3, 3-0) with 13 points, hit a 3-pointer at the 18:22 mark of the first half and quickly added another basket, sending the Dustdevils on their way. OC still was within 11-9 after a 3-pointer by Peters at the 14:40 mark, but those were the Eagles' final points for more than 10 minutes.
TAMIU built a 26-9 lead during that OC drought and led 34-20 at halftime. OC pulled within 36-28 with 15:55 left after a layup by Moon, but a 10-2 run by the Dustdevils rebuilt their lead and they steadily pulled away, leading by as many as 28 points.
Anthony Alston and Arkeem Joseph scored 12 points each for TAMIU, while Deonnte Breedlove added 11. Former OC player
Jordan VanDeKop started for the Dustdevils and scored eight points.
Chiza Ntirata went 3-of-3 from the field and scored seven points for OC, but battled foul trouble that limited his time on the floor.
OC will host St. Mary's (Texas) on Saturday in another conference game.
