Williams has 14 saves as Lady Eagles fall on road to Midwestern State

OC goalkeeper Lindsey Williams made 14 saves against Midwestern State.
Box Score WICHITA FALLS, Texas (Sept. 16, 2014) – Goalkeeper Lindsey Williams posted her third double-digit save outing of the season, but Oklahoma Christian fell 6-0 to regional power Midwestern State (Texas) on Tuesday night at the MSU Soccer Field.

Alyssa Parkhill and Stephanie Bonilla each had a goal and an assist for Midwestern State (2-0-3) as the Mustangs outshot OC by a 33-8 count.

Williams, a junior who had 10 saves against Southern Nazarene and 18 against Central Oklahoma, had 14 stops against Midwestern State in the Lady Eagles' first road game of the 2014 campaign.

The Mustangs led 4-0 at halftime but OC (0-5-1) remained competitive in the second half and had scoring chances, as evidenced by Midwestern State goalkeeper Courtney Burnette's five saves. Freshman Madeline Roseke had three of the Lady Eagles' eight shots while Areli Bermudez Delgado had two, both on goal.

"The bottom line is that Midwestern State is a very good team with two or three kids that any team in our region will have a hard time defending," OC coach Randall Robison said. "We challenged our girls at halftime and they responded with how we played in the second half. We put together some good passing chains and created our own opportunities on goal in the second half."

OC will return to action on Friday, when the Lady Eagles visit Angelo State (Texas).
