OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 21, 2009) – No. 12 Southern Nazarene University (Okla.) turned a 31-27 halftime lead into a 72-47 win over Oklahoma Christian University in women's basketball play on Saturday night.

The Lady Eagles hung with the Crimson Storm for the first 28 minutes of the contest, but a 17-2 Southern Nazarene run midway through the second half was too much to overcome.

Oklahoma Christian led for the first five minutes of the game before eight-straight Crimson Storm points gave SNU a 15-9 lead by the 12-minute mark.

OC went back on top when Charlotte Heron scored four points in a row, including a go-ahead putback at the 7:13 mark that made it 21-20 Lady Eagles.

SNU pulled back on top on their next possession thanks to a Logan Martin three pointer, but OC stayed within four points for the rest of the half.

The Lady Eagles made it 29-27 SNU with a Heron interior score with 41 seconds left in the half, but Lana Keith hit two foul shots on the other end to put the Storm ahead 31-27 at intermission.

It was 33-33 after only 3:24 of second half action when Lisa Chenoweth banked in a tough left-handed shot at the elbow. Martin again gave SNU the lead on the other end (35-33), but the Lady Eagles fought within 37-36 at the 14:45 mark when DeCamp canned a triple.

OC got within two on another DeCamp score with 12:18 showing before SNU's big run put the game out of reach.

Kennedy (14 points) and DeCamp (13 points) paced the Lady Eagles on offense. Kennedy added eight rebounds, while DeCamp posted six assists. Heron scored six points and grabbed six rebounds (all offensive).

Abbey Marra led SNU with 18 points on 7-of-7 shooting from the field, while Keith scored 17 points and snatched seven rebounds. The Storm outrebounded the Lady Eagles 48-28 and made good on 19-of-22 free-throw attempts.

The Lady Eagles have now lost eight games in a row to fall to 6-14 in the SAC and 13-15 overall. SNU improved to 15-4 in the league and 22-5 overall.

OC returns to action on Feb. 26 at Mid-America Christian (Okla.) at 6 p.m.
