The 22nd-ranked Oklahoma Christian University women's basketball team improved to 5-1 with a 77-55 victory over Mid-America Christian University Friday.

Katie Fariss set a new school record for three-pointers made in a career when she connected on a deep three with 16:50 left in the first half. The trey was No. 217 of Fariss' career, moving her ahead of former Lady Eagle standout April Avila for first on OC's all-time list.

OC rode a 5-of-6 three-point shooting first half to a 33-21 halftime lead. The Lady Eagles outscored the Lady Evangels 44-34 in the second half for the easy 22-point victory. For the game, OC was 9-of-16 (40.7 percent) from beyond the three-point arc.

Fariss led OC with 17 points on 3-of-5 three-point shooting, running her career total to 218. Freshman Kailan DeCamp added 14 points and five steals while fellow freshman Cressi Bryant scored 13 points for the first double-digit scoring effort of her OC career.

OC will next face 19th-ranked University of Mobile (Ala.) Saturday at 3 p.m. in day two of the OC Sleep Inn Thanksgiving Classic. Mobile defeated the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma 81-73 in the first game of the classic.
