Oklahoma Christian fell at No. 23 Oklahoma Baptist Thursday night to fall to 10-10 overall and 4-6 in conference play. The loss was the fifth straight for the Eagles.
OBU jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead, but OC stormed back with a 10-0 run that was capped by a monster putback dunk by Micah Miles.
The Eagles and Bison traded two leads and two ties in the first half before OBU took a 31-24 advantage to the break.
After falling behind by eight, OC clawed back to within two at 37-35 when Kyle Tefft stole an errant pass and got an easy lay-in with 17:18 left. Tefft then hit one of his five three-pointers to put OC ahead 38-37.
OBU climbed back on top and led for most of the half before Tefft again buried a go-ahead three to give OC a 62-61lead with 4:39 left.
OC extended the lead to 64-61 on a Miles layup with 3:40 left. But Tre Griffin's three-pointer 18 seconds later tied the contest and the Bison outscored the Eagles 11-8 down the stretch for the win.
Charles Baldwin scored a game-high 27 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the field. Tefft finished with a career-high 17 points on 5-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc and also snatched six rebounds.
Miles added 14 points and five rebounds. Griffin paced the Bison with 21 points.
The Eagles look to get back in the win column Saturday against Northwestern Oklahoma State in the Eagles' Nest. The men's game will tip at 8 p.m. following the 6 p.m. women's contest.
