Updated SAC tournament bracket
Oklahoma City University jumped out to a big lead early and held off a second-half rally by Oklahoma Christian to earn a 76-69 victory Saturday and a spot in the SAC tournament finals.
Oklahoma Christian pulled within one point of the Stars with 1:30 remaining in the game on a Charles Baldwin bucket, but OCU's Trevor Meier extended the lead with a three-pointer on the next possession.
Micah Miles hit one-of-two free throws to cut the lead down to three with 45 seconds left, but Lorenzo Gordon answered with a 15-foot jumper to put the game out of reach.
OC trailed 10-7 early in the game before OCU went on a 12 2 run to widen the margin. The Stars led the entire game, and led by as many as 21 in the first half, but OC trimmed the lead to 49-38 by halftime.
With just under 14 minutes to play in the second half, OC went on a 11-4 run to pull within two of the Stars, but Gordon scored four straight points to extend OCU's lead.
Gordon led OCU with 24 points. Baldwin led all scorers with 25 points. OC's Brady Page and Dillon Ripley added 14 and 11 points, respectively.
