Oklahoma Christian dropped its first game of the season with a 69-66 loss to Cumberland (Tenn.) Dec. 9 and split two games in the Trevecca Nazarene Classic in Nashville, Tenn. Dec. 10-11.
The Lady Eagles fell to Campbellsville (Ky.) by a single point, 71-70, but bounced back to defeat Brescia (Ky.) 80-62 in the two-day classic.
OC, ranked No. 11 in the Dec. 7 poll, was hampered by cold free throw shooting and costly turnovers against Cumberland. The Lady Eagles missed a final second opportunity against Campbellsville but outshot Brescia for a 10-2 record as the team breaks for the holidays.
Junior Tasha Turney had 22 points and seven rebounds against Cumberland and 18 points and nine rebounds against Campbellsville as the Lady Eagles' leader. Sophomore Katie Fariss, with four goals from three-point range, led OC against Brescia with 22 points and five rebounds.
The Lady Eagles return to action against Houston Baptist University in Houston Dec. 30.
