Eagles Shut Out Friends

The Oklahoma Christian men's soccer team notched a 4-0 shutout of Friends University on Aug. 30.

The OC scoring came early and often as the Eagles got on the board at the 41:15 mark of the first half on a goal from sophomore midfielder Phillip Hoover. The goal came on assists from Brady Nikkel and Chris Mooney.

OC's second goal came seconds later when junior Ivan Coco intercepted a pass from the goalkeeper and found the net at the 40:54 mark. Robby Riggs completed the first-half scoring with his goal at the 21:16 mark.

The Eagles continued their stellar defense in the second half and received an insurance goal from Ivan Coco. Phillip Hoover assisted Coco on the goal as the Falcons' goalkeeper gambled and lost at the 41:03 mark.

Joshua Pringle, a freshmen goalkeeper from Abilene, Texas, played the entire game at goal, giving him his first career collegiate shutout.

The Eagles will next play Tuesday, Sept. 6, when they host Sooner Athletic Conference rival Southern Nazarene University at 8 p.m.
