OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Jan. 2, 2010) – The Oklahoma Christian men's basketball team kept Rogers State University (Okla.) at bay throughout their 66-61 victory over the Hillcats in the Nest on Saturday night.

The Eagles held off the Hillcats while leading the majority of Saturday night's game. Despite five ties and five lead changes, the Eagles managed to stay tight and stay one step ahead of the Rogers State men.

The Eagles never saw more than a six point lead during the first half with many of their baskets being answered right back. OC's Jeff Crocker helped the Eagles stay a step ahead hitting three out of four treys during the first period.

With only 48 seconds left in the half, RSU's John Boyd scored the last basket to leave the Eagles ahead by two going into halftime.

The Eagles did not give up their lead until 11:49 was remaining in the second period when RSU's Sylvester Spice knocked down two free throws to leave OC trailing by two points. The Eagles responded quickly and regained the lead shortly there after and increasing their lead to ten points with 3:17 left in the game.

A three pointer by RSU's Lance Sullivan brought the Hillcats within three points of the Eagles with only 16 seconds left in the game. Crocker hit two free throws before the game's end to leave the Eagles with a 66-61 victory and a 13-0 overall record.

Crocker scored 21 points for the Eagles in addition to passing out nine assists during the game. Jason Taylor continued to hold strong down low, putting up 14 points and grabbing 13 rebounds for the Eagles.

Freshman, Devan White, added another 12 points along with Andre Vaughn going two for two from three-point range to put up six more.

The Eagles turn to the road for Monday's game against John Brown University (Ark.) in a women's and men's double header beginning at 6 p.m.
