Lady Eagles win five straight

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Jan. 2, 2010) – The Oklahoma Christian women's basketball team broke away from conference opponent Rogers State University to win their fifth straight game in a 70-57 victory.

The Lady Eagles trailed the Rogers State women from the start of the game until 11:28 remained in the first half and OC's Lisa Chenoweth drained a three to take the lead. The Lady Eagles never let up and led by as many as 16 points during the period before finishing the half ahead at 32-21.

The Lady Eagles held firm into the second half keeping a double digit lead most of the period. With only 2:19 left in the game, the Lady Hillcats came within six points before the Lady Eagles broke away in the last two minutes to earn a 13 point margin of victory winning 70-57.

Chenoweth was explosive offensively for the Lady Eagles draining 23 points, grabbing four rebounds and making three steals on the night. Her perimeter counterpart, Kailan DeCamp, was instrumental in scoring 10 points, making two assists and five steals for the Lady Eagles.

The freshman trio of Roz Hamilton, Lindsay McCown, and Katy O'Steen helped the Lady Eagles in the paint with each scoring seven points. Hamilton had four blocks in the game while McCown grabbed six boards.

The No. 24 Lady Eagles advance to 11-2 for the season and hold a 4-1 Sooner Athletic Conference record.

The OC women, along with the men, head to the road to play John Brown University (Ark.) on Monday. The women's game tips off at 6 p.m. with the men's game following at 8 p.m.
