OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Feb. 5, 2011) – The Oklahoma Christian men's basketball team fell to a 64-55 overtime loss against Oklahoma City University at home in the Eagles' Nest on Saturday night.

With 9:26 showing on the clock, the Eagles trailed by eight points following a 10-2 run by the Oklahoma City men.

Response baskets from Will Reinke and Kendre Talley cut the OCU advantage to four points, but a skillful Stars squad managed to take a 12-point lead over the next several minutes.

OC scored six unanswered points directly thereafter to put the margin down to six points with 2:14 left, but two different free throw opportunities gave the Stars an 8-point lead heading into the half at 26-18.

As the second half began, the Stars continued to hold the Eagles at bay for the first few minutes of the period, but with 11:24 showing on the clock, the Eagles took a two-point lead after outscoring OCU 10-1.

Despite gaining the lead, the Eagles gave up an 11-0 run to OCU to trail the Stars by nine points with 6:47 left in regulation.

The Stars held the lead until under a minute left to play when Andre Vaughn tied things up with a layup through traffic at 45 seconds left to play. The 51-51 tie held till the buzzer sending the game into overtime.

During the overtime period, the Eagles never led as the Stars scored seven unanswered points from the tip to gap the OC men. The Eagles put up a final effort to come back but came up short and a OCU basket in the final second gave the Stars a nine-point 64-55 victory.
