Eagles blow through home opener

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Nov. 1, 2010) – The Oklahoma Christian men's basketball team ran into little resistance as they marched their way to a 127-77 win over Hillsdale Baptist College (Okla.) in Monday's home opener.

The Eagles got things rolling promptly as they took off to a 9-2 lead with less than a minute expired off the clock. Moments later, the OC men added an 11-2 run to lead the Saints by 16 points after less than seven minutes of play time.

With 8:17 left before the half, the Eagles utilized a 19-2 run over the next five minutes on their way to a 62-33 lead at the half. Jeff Crocker netted 11 points during the period while Devan White added another 10 to lead OC to a 29-point advantage.

The second period saw a similar outcome as the Eagles continued to score nearly every chance they got. At the start of the half, Crocker exchanged treys with the Saints before the Eagles continued to pull away leaving the match out of sight for HBC.

Numerous three-point baskets and crowd-raising plays continued to keep the crowd on their feet as the Eagles utilized their entire bench only to pull away to a 50-point margin of victory.

Every Eagle scored during the game as the OC men were on fire from the field. OC shot 72 percent during the first period before ending the game at 60 percent overall and a score of 127-77.

Seven Eagles scored in the double digits with Crocker leading the way at 20 points and an additional eight assists for the evening. Eric Randall saw good time off the bench as he put 19 points on the board for the Eagles from under the basket.

Swingman Chad Endres, also made several impactful plays as he registered 18 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals for the evening. White, Brandon Troutman, and Kendre Talley all assisted Crocker from the perimeter scoring 14, 11, and 10 points, respectively. Trout recorded eight assists while White helped control the ball with three steals. Talley pulled down four rebounds and passed out six assists.

Post player, Will Reinke, provided an inside go-to as he scored 11 points for the evening in addition to making 12 rebounds and three blocks.

The victory advances the Eagles to a 1-0 start for the season. The Eagles will stay at home for their upcoming match against Texas Wesleyan University on Saturday (Homecoming) at 3 p.m.
