Hall of Famer Sydney Ringer has worked with Oklahoma Christian athletes for more than a decade and serves as the university’s head athletic trainer.

Ringer, an Oklahoma City native, graduated from Oklahoma State in 1989 and received her master's degree from the University of Tulsa in 1991. She began her career as an athletic trainer at Neosho (Kan.) Community College. 

She moved to TU as an assistant athletic trainer in 1992 and was promoted to coordinator of sports medicine services at TU in 1995. She stayed at TU until coming to OC in 2005 to begin work in OC's growing athletic department.

Ringer also serves as a preceptor for the Athletic Training Education Program at the University of Central Oklahoma.

In May 2015, the Oklahoma Athletic Trainers’ Association inducted Ringer into its Hall of Fame, the organization’s highest honor. She is a past member of the OATA's executive committee and served as that committee's secretary, vice president and president from 1996 to 2002. She also has served as the OATA's scholarship committee chairwoman for the last 11 years.

On a national level, she served on the National Athletic Trainers' Association's Women in Athletic Training Committee from 1999 to 2003.
