American International (Mass.) at the line to win in a school-record time of 49.67 seconds, breaking his arm as he fell past the finish line … It was the first national title in OC’s Division II history and the first national title ever won by an athlete from the GAC … It also ranked as the 10th-fastest time by a hurdler at any collegiate level in 2018 … The win eventually earned him a leGACy the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles as well as on the Eagles’ 4x400 relay team … Won six 400-meter hurdle races and one 110-meter hurdle race … Won the GAC title in the 400-meter hurdles in Shawnee Relays (52.12 seconds), the GAC Championships and the South Central Regional Challenge at West Texas A&M (52.16) … After the win in the Wichita State meet, was named as the GAC runner of the week … At Division II Championships in Bradenton, Fla., placed 16th in 53.99 seconds and didn’t qualify for the event final … His 110-meter hurdles win came at the Southwestern Relays (14.78 seconds) … Best time in the outdoor 4x400 relay (with Jones, Lutterloh and Pehkonen) was 3:14.26 in the Kansas Relays … 2015: During indoor season, qualified for the NCCAA Championships in the 60-meter hurdles and as part of OC’s 4x200-meter and 4x400-meter relay teams … In the 55-meter hurdles at the national meet in Cedarville, Ohio, finished third in 7.87 seconds to earn All-America honors … 4x400 relay team of Huslig, Kentrell Miller, Joshua Jones and Thomas Ducat earned All-America honors, finishing second in 3:23.92 … 4x200 quartet of Huslig, Miller, Ducat and Jamal George took third in 1:31.53, also earning All-America honors … Had top 60-meter hurdles time of 8.53 seconds in the Central Oklahoma Indoor Invitational … During outdoor season, qualified for the NCCAA Championships in the 110-meter hurdles, the 400-meter hurdles, the 4x400-meter relay and the 4x100-meter relay, although he did not compete in the latter event at the national meet in Rome, Ga. … Took second and earned All-America honors in the 400-meter hurdles with season-best time of 52.55 seconds … In the 4x400 relay, ran the anchor leg on a squad that included Jones, Miller and Ducat and finished second in 3:16.62, giving Huslig his fifth All-America performance of his freshman campaign … Finished an uncharacteristic 16th in the 110-meter hurdles at the national meet, failing to quality for the final with a preliminary time of 16.38 seconds … Named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s NCAA Division II All-South Central Region team in the 400-meter hurdles, having recorded one of the five best times in the event of any runner in the region … Named as the NCCAA student-athlete of the week three times during the outdoor season … First time was after winning the 400-meter hurdles and placing third in the 110-meter hurdles at the Southwestern Invitational in March … Also earned the honor in April after a standout performance in Pittsburg State’s David Suneram Gorilla Classic, in which he finished third in the 400 hurdles and 4x100 relay, fifth in the 4x400 relay and eighth in the 110 hurdles … Received the NCCAA honor a third time after his performance at the national meet … Previous school: Attended Deer Creek High School in Edmond, where he was a three-time Class 5A state champion as a senior in 2014 … Won 5A titles in the 300-meter hurdles (37.76 seconds) and as part of the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams … Also appeared to have won state title in 110-meter hurdles in 14.35 seconds, but he hit final hurdle and it fell into another runner’s lane, impeding that runner, and Huslig was disqualified … Led Deer Creek to its third straight 5A team title nonetheless … Named as The Oklahoman’s Big All-City track and field athlete of the year as a senior.
