Biography

  • OVERVIEW 

    • Kayci McKinnon is a nursing major from Aledo, TX.  

    • McKinnon swims Distance freestyle.

    • After graduation, Kayci plans to be a NICU nurse. 

    • Kayci’s go to road trip snack is twizzlers.

    • The people most important to Kayci are God, her family and her swim friends!

    • Growing up Kayci was inspired by Misty May and Missy Franklin.

    • Why OC?

      • “I chose OC because I loved the feel of being at a private christian school. I love the small community feel of OC. I felt right at home during my recruiting visit when people would come up to me to say hi! I also loved the swim community. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to swim at OC under Josh Davis!”

  • 2022-23

    • Kayci swam in 10 meets.

    • Kayci placed 7th in the 1000 and the 1650 Freestyle at the 2023 Rocky Mountain Conference Championships. 

    • Kayci was a part of the 800 freestyle relay that placed 2nd at the conference championships.

  • 2021-22 

    • Kayci swam in 7 meets.

    • Kayci placed 4th in the 1000 freestyle, 8th in the 200 freestyle, 6th in the 500 freestyle, and 6th in the 1650 freestyle at the 2022 Rocky Mountain Conference Championships.

    • Kayci was also a part of the 800 freestyle relay that placed 2nd, and the 400 Freestyle relay that placed 3rd at the Conference Championships.

  • 2020-21

    • Kayci swam in 6 meets.

    • Kayci placed 2nd in the 200 freestyle and 3rd in the 100 freestyle at the 2020 Eagle Invite.

  • 2019-2020

    • Kayci swam in 8 meets

    • Kayci placed 5th in the 1000 freestyle, 6th place in the 200 freestyle, and 7th place in the 500 freestyle at the 2020 Rocky Mountain Conference Championships.

  • HIGH SCHOOL 

    • Kayci attended and swam at Byron Nelson High School.

    • Kayci was a part of the 1st women’s team to qualify for the TX 6A state championships in the 200 freestyle relay her junior year.

    • Kayci qualified for the TX 6A state championships in the 500 freestyle, 200 freestyle relay, and 400 freestyle relay her senior year. 

  • CAREER HIGH

    • Kayci was a CSCAA Scholar All-American her freshman year.

    • Kayci was an All RMAC Honoree her Junior year.
