SAN ANTONIO - The Oklahoma Christian men's golf team opened the fall season at The Dewsweeper at TPC San Antonio with a top-five team finish, taking a share of 5th place at 4-over par in the 12-team field. Leading the way for the Eagles was Christian Yanovitch, who delivered a strong three-round performance to tie for 3rd place individually at 5-under par (211).
Oklahoma Christian came out sharp in Monday's opening round, firing a team score of 2-under par to jump into the upper tier of the leaderboard early. Yanovitch set the tone with an opening-round 2-under 70, while Lorenzo Santinelli added a solid 1-under 71 to give OC two red numbers on the card. Juan Cruz Repetto turned in an even-par 72, with Lenni Perala (+1, 73) and Mason Brown (+4, 76) rounding out the team's initial efforts.
The Eagles held firm through the second 18 holes, posting a team total of 1-over par to stay squarely in contention entering the final day. Yanovitch continued his precise play by carding his second consecutive 2-under 70 to move deeper into the top five overall. Santinelli kept things steady with an even-par 72, while Perala remained consistent with another 1-over 73. Brown shaved two strokes off his opening score with a 2-over 74, and Repetto finished with a 77 (+5).
On the final 18 holes, OC battled to post a team total of 5-over par, securing a tie for 5th place alongside Georgia Southwestern and Dallas Baptist. Yanovitch closed out his strong opening week with a 1-under 71 to secure his top-3 finish. Perala played his best golf of the tournament in the final round, shooting an even-par 72 to climb into a tie for 16th place (+2 overall). Repetto bounced back with a final-round 2-over 74 to finish T-34 (+7), Santinelli added a 76 (+4) to place T-22 (+3 overall), and Brown posted a 79 (+7) to complete the scoring (T-53 at +13).
The Eagles will be back in action when they compete at the NCAA National Preview, in West Palm Beach, Florida, on September 28.
