EDMOND, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian held Sul Ross State to zero shots on goal Wednesday night as the Eagles claimed a much-needed victory over the Lobos, 2-0.
What Went Down
- A few shots from either side was the only offense to be seen through the first 45 minutes as play moved to halftime with the score tied, 0-0.
- Alejandro Gomez broke the deadlock with a goal off a ricocheted Ethan Nakolo shot in the 53'.
- Nakolo got in the action yet again with a goal of his own in the 84' to put the game away for the maroon-and-gray.
Notes
- Goalkeeper Carter Higgins got his first start of the season Wednesday night while not allowing a single goal in what was OC's first shutout victory in conference play this season.
- Gomez recorded his first goal of the season in what would wind up being the eventual game-winning goal.
- While Nakolo secured his 14th goal of the season, the Yukon, Okla., native also tallied his second assist on the year as he is now up to 30 points in 2025.
- Wednesday marked Sul Ross' first LSC loss of the season as SRSU has forced results with St. Mary's, St. Edward's and UT Dallas - all teams which are within two games of OC in the current conference standings.
