Thackerville, Okla. - No. 19 Oklahoma Christian competed in the stroke play portion of the Lone Star Conference Championships with thirty-six holes on Monday and eighteen holes on Tuesday to earn a spot in the top four and a spot in the match play semifinals Wednesday morning.

Round 1
The early morning Oklahoma breeze and moisture played a role in round one as the Eagles were struggling to get birdies to fall in the early round of the day.
At the end of round one, the Eagles found themselves in seventh place and almost ten strokes out of the top four. OC finished round one shooting a 302 (+14).
Sofia Benavides led the Eagles, shooting an even-par 72, including a 2-under 34, bogey-free back nine.
Maria Torres was next for the Eagles, firing off a 2-over 74, including a near par four hole-in-one lip out for eagle on hole ten.
The Eagles rounded out their round-one score with Abbey Lynn shooting a 77 (+5) and
Haley Blevins 79 (+7).
Susana Granados played a strong back nine to finish with an 82 (+10).
The Eagles would go straight into round two looking to gain some ground to make a run at the top four.
Round 2
Oklahoma Christian opened the second round firing off birdies left and right, rushing up the leaderboard as a team and as individuals. The Eagles finished round two with the lowest single-round score in school history, including three Eagles below par and sub-70 scores, setting themselves up well for the final round of stroke play, sitting in third place.
Maria Torres fired the team low 66 (-6) in round two, the third lowest round in program history. Torres' round included another hole-in-one lip out on the par 3 eleventh hole, a stretch of five birdies in a row, and a six birdie, bogey-free back nine. After rounds one and two, Torres sat in solo third just one stroke behind teammate Sofia Benavides.
Sofia Benavides showed an impressive improvement in round two, firing off a 5-under 67 and completing a bogey-free round. At the end of the first day of competition, Benavides was in solo second place and just 2-shots outside of first.
Haley Blevins was the third Eagles to show a turnaround and fire off a sub-70 score with a 3-under 69. This included a special 2-hole stretch with a par four eagle chip in on hole twelve and turned around on the par five thirteenth with an incredible chip shot over a sand trap and off a downhill slope to run just five feet past the hole and sink it in for an impressive up and down birdie.
Susana Granados showed an impressive improvement, cutting eight strokes from round one to shoot a 2-over 74 to round out the Eagles' round two score of 276.
Abbey Lynn played a solid round of golf continuing to be a steady force for the Eagles, shooting a 4-over 76.
Round 3
The Eagles held strong in the final round of stroke play to finish the day, shooting 286 and finishing in third place. This will give them the 3-seed in the match play tomorrow to compete against West Texas in the semifinal match for a spot in the championship match.
Sofia Benavides had a strong finish 2-under 70 to finish stroke play in solo second place.
Maria Torres finished two shots behind Benavides with a final day 71 to claim solo third place.
Haley Blevins continued her great play from yesterday and shot a final round 1-under 71 to finish tied for seventh.
Another Eagle who rebounded in yesterday's second round and continued that momentum today,
Susana Granados shot 3-over 74 to help the Eagles finish in third.
Abbey Lynn rounded out the Eagles' performance with a 78.
