Eagles Season Ends On the Road After Falling to Patriots in Finale

TYLER, Texas - Oklahoma Christian (6-8-3, 3-6-1) took one final trip this season to take on UT Tyler (4-5-6, 2-2-5). The Eagles and the Patriots both played with great urgency, as the hopes of the postseason were on the line.

What Went Down

  • The first half was a stalemate, with neither team being able to find ways to set up any offense.

  • The Eagles came out of half looking to strike first, pressuring the back line of the Patriots. The Eagles grabbed the 1-0 lead in the 59th minute with a ball into the box from Dylen Leissner and put away by Ethan Nakolo

  • The Patriots were quick to find a way to tie the game and keep the weight of the result heavy on both sides.

  • UT Tyler and OC took the tie into the final 70 seconds of the game before the Patriots were able to sneak the winning goal to the back of the net.

Notes

  • In Neil Hilton's first season as the Eagles' head coach, the program finished with a 6-8-3 overall record and a 3-6-1 Lone Star Conference record.

  • Igor Caballero led the Eagles with seven goals on the season. This included a hat-trick performance back in September.

  • With his goal tonight, Nakolo finished with six goals on the season.
