Oklahoma City, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian University (OC) recently announced its plan to discontinue the women's golf program at the end of the 2023-24 academic year.
 
"This was an extremely difficult decision and one we don't take lightly," OC Athletic Director David Lynn said. "After an exhaustive review of the athletics department's operations and financial forecast, we concluded this was the right path forward. Student-athletes are shining examples of commitment, fortitude and an ability to showcase their God-given talents in different arenas. We remain committed to working with each individual affected and setting them up for long-term success." 
 
The decision to discontinue the women's golf program was made collaboratively by the OC administration and athletics leadership to strengthen the financial position of the department.
 
OC will honor all scholarships for eligible student-athletes for the duration of their undergraduate enrollment at the university. Those wishing to transfer to another institution will be given their full and immediate release and ample resources and support from OC athletics leadership.
 
The Lady Eagles golf team will tee off its final spring season on February 18th at the Battle at Hilton Head in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
