OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Eagles (1-0-2) returned to Eagle Soccer Field for a matchup with the Drury Panthers (0-1-2) from Springfield, Missouri, and came away with their second result in as many times out.
The theme of the night was chances, as OC took 17 shots (6 SOG), and Drury took 9 (1 SOG) in a match where each team controlled a half.
Drury was the aggressor in the first half, setting the tone early and taking a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute. The initial shot was saved by
Fynn Koerner punching it out, but it fell to the feet of a Drury player, who score on the deflection.
Oklahoma Christian had its chances, as they got a penalty opportunity that was saved by pinning the ball against the left post. And
Isaias Silva looked at a sure goal, but the keeper got his right foot on it to keep it out of the goal.
The Eagles hit the locker room trailing for the first time this season and came out with a fury of offense, leading to
Isaias Silva finding the back of the net in the 60th minute to tie the match.
The goal was Silva's first of the season, and it was assisted by
Elliott Forestier, who picked up his second assist of the season.
Oklahoma Christian kept the pressure on the Panthers with 12 shots in the second half before the match ended in a draw.
