Oklahoma City, Okla. - Sophomore Sofia Benavides was named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association All-Region team, earning a spot on the West team.

Benavides is the first OC Women's golfer to make an All-Region team since now assistant coach Kate (Goodwin) Hurst made the team in 2019.

Sofia had three top-ten finishes this season, highlighted by winning the RJGA Palm Valley Classic in Arizona earlier this spring. Her average score of 74.90 brought her career average to 75.51, currently putting her in second place all-time in average scores at OC.

Overall, Benavides finished the year 10th in the region and ranked 48th in all of NCAA Division II.
