AMARILLO, Texas - No. 19 Women's golf continued the fall season at the West Texas A&M Fall Invitational. In the windy conditions of West Texas, the team was able to make up ground in the third round against the rest of the field to finish the tournament in solo fourth.
The team shot a 904 (+34) over the two days. As other teams struggled to maintain scores in the third round, OC was able to finish strong in the windy conditions.
Leading the way for the Eagles this week was junior Sofia Benavides, who finished solo fifth individually with a three-round total of 217 (+4). The next Eagle, sophomore Maria Torres, finished tied for 16th with a three-day total of 226 (+13).
Junior Haley Blevins claimed a top-25 finish as she tied for 23rd with a 228 (+15). To finish out the starting five for the Eagles freshman, Abbey Lynn finished with 239 (+26), and junior Sarah Sherrard finished with a score of 243 (+30).
First-year Eagle Blaine Bruton traveled to compete as an individual, shooting a 256 (+43).
