Oklahoma City, Okla. (August 7th, 2022) - Oklahoma Christian sophomore Sofia Benavides has qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur. She is the first OC golfer to qualify for the prestigious event.
Sofia, from San Luis Potosi, Mexico, qualified for the event last week, shooting -2 par 70, in San Diego, California, at the Country Club of Rancho Bernardo.

Greg Lynn said. "We are extremely excited and proud of Sofia. She will be able to test her game against the best amateur women's golfers in the world, playing at a world-class venue in Chambers Bay."
The U.S. Women's Amateur begins morning tomorrow at Chambers Bay, in University Place, Washington. Sofia tees off at 10:50 a.m. CST, and you can follow along with her
