GLEN ROSE, Texas (April 22, 2022) – Oklahoma Christian posted two of the six best team rounds in program history on the first day of the Lone Star Conference Championship, but the Eagles' momentum unfortunately slowed on Friday in the final round at Squaw Valley Golf Course's Apache Links.

OC posted a team score of 302 (14-over-par) and slipped a spot to fifth with a three-round score of 880 (16-over). The top four teams advanced to the match-play portion of the event to determine the team title.

No. 1-ranked Dallas Baptist (Texas) ran away from the rest of the 15-team field, finishing with a three-round score of 834, 21 shots ahead of No. 11 West Texas A&M. No. 22 Texas A&M-Commerce, in sixth to start the round, posted the best team score of the day at 14-under 274 to move into third place at 859, while No. 24 Texas A&M International (285/864) moved up one spot to snag the last match-play berth.

Junior Alexandria Bennett of Plano, Texas, was the Eagles' top individual finisher, tying for 19th in the 75-woman field at 217 after a final-round 76 on the 5,972-yard course that included three birdies. She recorded 13 birdies during the tournament.

OC freshman Sofia Benavides Herberth of San Luis Potosi, Mexico, tied for 21st at 218, with her final-round 77 including two birdies. One shot behind, tied for 23rd, was sophomore Wilma Merenmies of Raasepori, Finland, who recorded OC's top round Friday, a 2-over-par 74 that featured three birdies.

Freshman Haley Blevins of Edmond, Okla., shot a 77 and tied for 40th at 228, while freshman Sarah Sherrard of Moore, Okla., tied for 49th at 232 after a 75.

Dallas Baptist's Jordah Karrh was the individual medalist with a final score of 208 (8-under).

The Eagles will find out next week if they've done enough to qualify for the NCAA Division II West Super Regional, set for May 2-4 at Brookside Country Club in Stockton, Calif.
