Oklahoma City, Okla. - Joep Claassen propelled No. 16 Oklahoma Christian (8-2-2, 2-1 LSC) past UT Tyler (5-3-2, 0-2-1 LSC) with his second brace of the season with two penalty kick goals. Claassen's 5th and 6th goals of the season have him tied for second for the most goals scored in a season in the Eagles' II era.
Joep's first goal came came in the 24th minute, and his second goal came just 15 minutes later in the 39th. And the offensive attack continued in the second half with John Ighede scoring his second goal of the season in the 63rd minute, giving OC a 3-0 lead.
The defense also had its way in the match by only allowing four shots in the entire match. Fynn Koerner had three saves on the night.
The Eagles' 3-1 win puts them in second place in the Lone Star Conference standings, heading into a week with the current top team in the standings, St. Mary's coming to town next Saturday.
But OC's next game is on the road at Texas A&M International at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
