CORAL GABLES, Fla. (July 6, 2021) – For the fourth time in their collegiate careers, Oklahoma Christian golfers
Abigail Rigsby and
Shaley Goad earned recognition on the Women's Golf Coaches Association All-America Scholar List, which was announced Tuesday.
To qualify for the WGCA honor, a player must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5, be of high moral character and of good standing at her university and have played in at least 50 percent of her team's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the season.
Goad, an Exercise Science major from Wheeler, Texas, and Rigsby, a Mathematics major from Courtenay, British Columbia, joined Allison Sell (2014-17) as the only four-time recipients of the WGCA honor in OC program history. It was the eighth straight year in which the Eagles, who are coached by
Greg Lynn, had multiple players make the WGCA honor list.
Rigsby and Goad were among 1,432 players (across all levels of college golf) honored by the WGCA. Of those, 29 were from Lone Star Conference member schools.
