DUNCAN, Okla. (July 12, 2021) – Oklahoma Christian golfer
Alyssa Wilson qualified 20th on Monday in the seeding round for the Women's Oklahoma Golf Association State Amateur Championship at The Territory Golf and Country Club.
Wilson, a rising sophomore from Yukon, posted a 12-over-par 84, recording a birdie on the par-3 No. 14 on the 6,044-yard course. She qualified to continue playing in the event as part of the President's flight, the second-highest level.
The 11 players in the President's flight will continue play on Tuesday. Wilson will receive a first-round bye before playing Chrissy Bagwell of Edmond in an afternoon quarterfinal match. The semifinals are set to be played Wednesday, with the title match on Thursday.
Wilson played in four tournaments for OC during the 2020-21 season, recording a scoring average of 80.22 over nine rounds. She tied for seventh in the West Texas A&M Fall Invitational in Amarillo, Texas, in October, which was her first collegiate top-10 finish.
