Eagles edge up slightly in Division II women’s golf poll

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (April 30, 2021) – Oklahoma Christian eased up only one spot to No. 16 in the latest Women's Golf Coaches Association's NCAA Division II poll released Friday, despite winning head-to-head records against several teams ranked above the Eagles.

OC was the sixth of six Lone Star Conference teams ranked in the poll, along with No. 1 Dallas Baptist (Texas), No. 5 Texas A&M-Commerce, No. 7 St. Mary's (Texas), No. 12 Arkansas-Fort Smith and No. 13 West Texas A&M. OC is 2-1 head-to-head this season against both TAMUC and St. Mary's, 2-0 vs. UAFS and 3-0 against West Texas A&M.

After Dallas Baptist, which received 12 of a possible 13 first-place votes, the rest of the top 10 consisted of Lynn (Fla.), Limestone (S.C.), Indianapolis (Ind.), TAMUC, Tampa (Fla.), St. Mary's, Florida Southern, Anderson (S.C.) and Barry (Fla.).

OC was one of two Oklahoma teams in the poll, along with No. 23 Central Oklahoma.

The Eagles will begin play in the Division II West Super Regional on Monday at Wildhorse Golf Club at Robson Ranch in Denton, Texas.
