CANYON, Texas (March 30, 2021) – Giancarlo Saldana scored twice for West Texas A&M and the Buffaloes downed Oklahoma Christian 3-0 on Tuesday night at The Pitch at Buffalo Sports Park.
The game was the spring-semester season finale for OC (1-7-1, 1-7 Lone Star Conference), while West Texas A&M (6-1, 6-1) clinched the LSC's regular-season men's soccer title.
West Texas A&M outshot the Eagles 28-4 and took the lead in the 18th minute on a goal by Beau Johnson. Saldana scored his first goal in the 33rd minute to give the Buffaloes a 2-0 lead and finished off a brace with a goal in the 85th minute.
Freshman
Lukas Appel, making his second start in goal in as many games for OC, recorded 12 saves, the most this season by an OC goalkeeper. West Texas A&M goalkeeper Alexander Vencel made three saves before giving way to backup Kevin Gomez in the 88th minute.

The Eagles hope to return to their regular fall spot on OC's athletic schedule in a few months, with the 2021 season set to start in September. The schedule for that season will be announced sometime during the summer.
