OKLAHOMA CITY (March 13, 2021) – On a misty, cool afternoon, No. 10-ranked St. Mary's (Texas) ground out a 2-0 win over Oklahoma Christian on Saturday at the Eagle Soccer Field.
St. Mary's (3-1, 2-1) took the lead in the 13th minute when Deni Cresto converted a penalty kick awarded after OC's
Pedro Ribeira fouled the Rattlers' Dani Gimena in the penalty box.
The Rattlers extended their lead to 2-0 in the 51st minute, when Cresto assisted on a goal by Lewis Wilson.
The best scoring chance for OC (1-4, 1-4) came a few minutes later, when St. Mary's goalkeeper Andre Schlaefli saved an open shot by
Thomas van der Meulen. The Rattlers outshot OC 12-8.
Schlaefli made two saves for St. Mary's, while OC goalkeeper
Anthony Trabichet had four.
OC will host LSC rival Dallas Baptist (Texas) on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
