OKLAHOMA CITY (Sept. 2, 2020) – Oklahoma Christian has adjusted its women's golf fall schedule after the COVID-19 outbreak resulted in the postponement of one of its scheduled tournaments.
The Eagles still will open their fall season Sept. 21-22 in the NCAA Division II West Super Region Preview, to be hosted by Dallas Baptist (Texas) at Wildhorse Golf Club in Denton, Texas. It will be the first event for any OC athletic team during the 2020-21 academic year.
OC also will still play in the West Texas A&M Fall Invitational at Tascosa Golf Club in Amarillo, Texas, although that tournament has been changed to a one-day, 36-hole event to be played on Oct. 5.
Instead of playing in a tournament hosted by Cameron in Lawton, the Eagles now will play closer to home in the Sydney Cox Invitational, to be hosted by NAIA power Oklahoma City University at Lincoln Park Golf Club's West Course in north Oklahoma City on Oct. 12-13.
The tournament in which OC had entered that was postponed was the Missouri Southern Fall Invitational, which was to be played Sept. 28-29 at Shangri-La Golf Club in Monkey Island. The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, of which Missouri Southern is a member, postponed all fall-sports competitions last month.
