OKLAHOMA CITY (March 15, 2020) – The Lone Star Conference and Oklahoma Christian announced Sunday the cancellation of all athletic competition for the remainder of the spring semester.

The decision was reached by the LSC Council of Presidents with the health, safety and wellness of student-athletes, coaches, administrators, athletic staffs and fans as the top priority.

The announcement aligns with the recent NCAA decision to cancel all spring championship events due to the evolving COVID-19 public health threat. These decisions will affect OC's softball, baseball, men's and women's golf and men's and women's outdoor track and field teams.

The NCAA Division II Administrative Committee voted Friday to allow member institutions, such as OC, to self-apply season-of-competition waivers for student-athletes whose 2019-20 spring season was cancelled, subject to certain criteria. That will mean, in most cases, student-athletes who have competed, or were schedule to compete, in spring sports before the cancellations will not be charged with a season of eligibility.

OC also has decided that none of its club sports teams – including men's and women's bowling and Ultimate – will compete for the rest of the spring semester, OC Athletic Director David Lynn said.
