OKLAHOMA CITY (May 19, 2019) – Leading Oklahoma Christian during its first appearance in the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship earned
Abigail Rigsby recognition Sunday as the final Eagle of the Week for the 2018-19 academic year.
Rigsby, a junior from Courtenay, British Columbia, was the Eagles' top player in the tournament played at PGA National Resort's Champions Course, shooting rounds of 77, 80 and 80 on the par-73 layout to finish at 237, tied for 28th in the 95-women field.
OC finished 12th among the 16 teams in the elite field.
Rigsby was one of three OC athletes in 2018-19 to be named as Eagle of the Week three times, joining Josh Imhoff (men's bowling) and Addy Clift (women's basketball). Three others – softball player Kaylie Upton, baseball player Gabe Rodery and men's golfer Andres Brictson – twice received the honor. Twenty-nine OC athletes, representing 15 sports, received the honor at least once.
The Eagle of the Week award recognizes the top performer in OC athletics for the previous week. The honor is presented each week at least one OC athletic team is in competition.
