Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Eagles continue as road warriors, win at Dallas Baptist

DALLAS (Nov. 4, 2018) – Oklahoma Christian's men's soccer team keeps proving the old adage that there's no such thing as an ugly win.

The bruised and battered Eagles keep finding ways to win, particularly away from home. OC won its third straight game – all in Texas – riding D'Waylan McIntosh's 24th-minute goal the rest of the way to down Dallas Baptist 1-0 on Thursday night at the Patriot Soccer Field.

During its current winning streak, OC (6-4-1, 4-2-1 Heartland Conference) has scored only four goals, but it's been enough. Suddenly, the Eagles – a team picked in the preseason to finish last in the league – are tied for third place with 13 standings points with North Division rival Rogers State.

The Eagles will take a four-game unbeaten streak into a showdown at home Saturday afternoon against No. 4-ranked Midwestern State (Texas), which leads the North Division and the league with 19 points. Midwestern is 9-0-1 overall and 6-0-1 in league play.

Dallas Baptist (3-7-1, 1-6) outshot the Eagles 12-8 but it was OC that took the early lead. McIntosh, a freshman from Broken Arrow, was in the right place as the ball deflected off Dallas Baptist goalkeeper Luis Murillo, and McIntosh headed it into the net for his second score of the season.

OC goalkeeper Anthony Trabichet kept the Patriots at bay the rest of the way while recording his fourth shutout of the season and increasing his league-leading total for saves to 60. The closest Dallas Baptist came to scoring came in the 76th minute, when an OC defender cleared a shot by the Patriots' Travis Whitt off the goal line.

Murillo made five saves for the Patriots.

The Midwestern State game will start a stretch of three home games that will be OC's final contests this season in Oklahoma City. OC will close the regular season with four straight road games.
