Box Score OKLAHOMA CITY (Oct. 21, 2017) – No. 16-ranked St. Edward's (Texas) scored three first-half goals and eventually beat Oklahoma Christian 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Eagle Soccer Field.

St. Edward's (12-3-1, 9-2-1 Heartland Conference) only outshot OC (3-10-2, 1-9-2) by an 11-9 count, but the Hilltoppers put plenty of their shots on target, particularly while going against a stout south wind in the opening half.

Dylan Armstrong put St. Edward's ahead in the 22nd minute, taking possession after the ball had bounced off an OC player and shooting from near the edge of the penalty box.

The Hilltoppers made it 2-0 in the 31st minute, when Ruben Gonzalez scored on a shot from about 20 yards out in the middle of the field, and 3-0 in the 34th minute on a goal by Pablo Covarrubias. Steve Aoudou assisted on both goals. Gonzalez closed out the scoring in the 73rd minute for St. Edward's.

OC's best scoring chances came in the 12th minute, when St. Edward's goalkeeper William Tuffin stopped a free kick from 25 yards out by Matheus Mantovani, and in the 32nd minute, when Tuffin snuffed out a tricky header shot by Garrett Blume.

Those were Tuffin's only two saves. OC junior Gary Goldsboro Jr., making his second straight start in goal for the Eagles, made one save.

OC will wrap up its season next week, visiting Rogers State on Thursday before hosting Midwestern State (Texas) on Saturday.
