Box Score CLAREMORE, Okla. (Sept. 24, 2016) – A frustrating start to Oklahoma Christian's Heartland Conference men's soccer season continued Saturday afternoon as the Eagles fell 2-0 to Rogers State at Soldier Field.
Rogers State (4-2-2, 1-2-1 Heartland) outshot OC (2-6, 0-4) by a 20-7 count and held the Eagles without a shot in the second half. Compounding the problem, OC played a man down after senior
Troy Tippeconnic received a red card in the 52nd minute.
Kevin Kwarteng scored from six yards out in the 27th minute to put the Hillcats ahead, and Jordan Watson made it 2-0 in the 53rd minute with a goal from about 25 yards out.
OC goalkeeper
Evan Helker made eight saves while his Rogers State counterpart, Cody Gammill, had four saves.
The Eagles will return home for their next two Heartland games – against St. Mary's (Texas) on Thursday and Texas A&M International next Saturday.
