Road again proves unkind to Eagles in 3-0 loss at Texas A&M International

Box Score LAREDO, Texas (Oct. 20, 2014) – The Heartland Conference road can be cruel, as Oklahoma Christian was again reminded on Monday afternoon at Texas A&M International.

For the second straight game, the Eagles were competitive, but couldn't generate a goal. And for the second straight game, OC lost by a 3-0 count, this time to the Dustdevils at the TAMIU Soccer Complex.

OC (2-7-1, 1-3 Heartland) managed 11 shots to 12 for Texas A&M International (8-5-1, 4-2), but only two of those shots for the Eagles were on goal – by Ante Susic in the 23rd minute and by Domenico DeGrazia in the 88th minute.

TAMIU's starting goalkeeper, Salomon Moctezuma, recorded his only save in 80 minutes on Susic's shot, while Moctezuma's backup, Chris Biddulph, picked up a save by stopping DeGrazia's shot.

The Dustdevils took the lead in the 14th minute, when Eduardo Gonzalez scored from six yards out off a throw-in by Robert Dominguez. TAMIU milked that lead well into the second half before being awarded a penalty kick in the 63rd minute. Jovany Macias converted to put the Dustdevils ahead 2-0.

Aaron Zuniga sealed the win for Texas A&M International, scoring off an assist by Oscar Pompa in the 81st minute.

OC goalkeeper Evan Helker recorded three saves.

The Eagles, who dropped a 3-0 decision at St. Mary's (Texas) on Saturday, have two more games remaining during their current Heartland road swing – this Saturday at Newman (Kan.) and next Monday at Rogers State.
