DeGrazia scores 9th goal of season but Eagles fall 3-1 to Rogers State

OKLAHOMA CITY (Oct. 26, 2013) – Visiting Rogers State steadily built its lead throughout the game and fended off a late rally to beat Oklahoma Christian 3-1 on Saturday in men's soccer.

Rogers State (5-8-1, 3-4 Heartland Conference) overcame an 18-11 deficit in shots to OC (3-9-1, 1-5), taking a quick lead in the eighth minute, when Dylan Beaird crossed the ball to Niall Masterson, who beat OC goalkeeper Evan Helker.

The Hillcats went up 2-0 in the 51st minute, with Garron Hayes heading in a cross from Kevin Howard. Rogers State extended its lead to 3-0 in the 64th minute on a similar play, with Necas Collins delivering the cross and Mathew Levenson scoring on a header.

The Eagles scored in the 76th minute to cut into Rogers State's lead. Domenico DeGrazia scored his team-high ninth goal of the season off an assist from Brandon Little Axe.

But the Eagles – who peppered Rogers State goalkeeper Mitchell Penton with 14 second-half shots – couldn't close the gap any more. Penton finished with three saves, while Helker had one save for OC.

OC will play its final home game of the season Monday against Newman (Kan.).
