OKLAHOMA CITY (Sept. 29, 2012) – Daniel Riley scored a goal and added two assists to lead St. Edward's (Texas) to a 3-0 win over Oklahoma Christian on a rainy Saturday afternoon.
OC (4-4) dropped its second straight game – both at home – after winning four in a row, including three on the road. The Eagles played St. Edward's (4-3-1) without leading scorer Domenico DeGrazia, who sat out after being ejected in OC's 3-0 loss to Dallas Baptist (Texas) on Thursday.
The Hilltoppers went ahead 1-0 in the 11th minute, when Riley fed Karl Dezoeten, then took a two-goal lead into halftime after Riley assisted on a goal by Andrew Fox in the 40th minute.
Riley sealed the win for St. Edward's in the 85th minute, taking an assist from Coleton Stymeist.
St. Edward's outshot OC 18-10, with Tommy Guernsey leading the Eagles with three shots and Cole Rinke and Sam Guernsey taking two shots each. OC goalkeeper Tim Spencer made eight saves, while his St. Edward's counterpart, John Kaschak, had four saves.
The Eagles will start a stretch of four straight games on the road on Thursday, when they visit Texas-Permian Basin.
