Southern Nazarene scored in the second half to break a first half tie and take a 2-1 decision over the Oklahoma Christian men's soccer team here Tuesday, Sept. 6.
SNU got on the board four minutes into the game on a goal from Jefferey Darkwah.
The Eagles answered at the 28:15 mark when forward Alex DeJournett took a pass from Ivan Coco and looped it over the goalkeeper's head from 25-yards out into the back corner of the goal.
In the second half, the Crimson Storm got a goal from midfielder Evan Dresel to break the tie in the fourth minute of play. The two teams played the rest of the game scoreless and SNU took the victory. Despite a losing effort, OC goalkeeper Jason Miller recorded 12 saves including a number of acrobatic denials on SNU shot attempts.
Oklahoma Christian is now 1-2 while Southern Nazarene is 2-0. The Eagles will next host Hastings College on Saturday September 10 at 4:00 p.m.
