OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Oct. 9, 2007) – Oklahoma Christian won its third-consecutive game Tuesday night 1-0 over the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
OC is now 5-4-2 on the year and 2-1-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference play. The win was the Eagles' second conference win in a row after beating John Brown 3-2 on Oct. 6.
In the 64th minute, the Eagles made good on a corner kick opportunity. Tyler Brady's serve was deflected to Adam Barnes, who fired a shot off the crossbar. The carom found Cristian Fernandes, who headed the ball in for his team-best seventh goal of the year.
Eagle goalkeeper Bryan Cochrum, fresh off being named SAC Defensive Player of the Week, recorded his third shutout of the season. The 6-3 junior grabbed two saves as the OC defense held USAO to just 10 shots.
OC looks for its fourth-straight victory on Saturday, Oct. 13 in Shawnee, Okla., vs. SAC foe St. Gregory's University. The men kick off at 3 p.m. following the women's game at 1 p.m.
