Eagles soar over Jets

Oklahoma Christian University senior Brady Nikkel recorded the second hat trick of his career to lead the Eagles to an impressive 7-2 victory over Newman University in Wichita, Kan., on Tuesday.

Scoring early, the Eagles jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first five minutes of play, expanded to a 4-0 margin by halftime and cemented Scott's first head coaching victory with three more goals in the second half.

Nikkel scored OC's first goal off an assist by freshman Ryan Frampton and junior Phillip Hoover followed with a score after taking an assist from another freshman, Chris Fernandez.

Senior All-American Matt Clark accounted for the next two goals, with assists credited to Fernandez and another freshman, Tyler Brady. The goals raise Clark's career scoring mark to 55 goals.

Nikkel completed his three-goal performance with two quick goals in the second half. The first was unassisted and the second came off a pass from Brady, the freshman.

Brady, from Norman, scored his first collegiate goal midway through the final period, with an assist from Hoover.

Oklahoma Christian will play No. 3 Southern Nazarene University in Bethany Sept. 2.
