OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (Sept. 29, 2007) – Ryan Trudgian's penalty kick in the 83rd minute gave No. 16 Oklahoma City University a 3-2 home win over Oklahoma Christian Saturday.
The game-winner was set up by an inadvertent hand ball in the penalty box.
The Eagles had tied the game in similar fashion just six minutes earlier. Cristian Fernandes scored his fifth goal of the season on a penalty kick after an OCU hand ball.
The Stars took a 2-0 first-half lead on a pair of goals by midfielder Matt Williams. OC's Adam Barnes sliced the deficit in half in the 52nd minute when he scored off a pinpoint 40-yard service by defender Jason Frei.
For the game, OCU posted a 19-17 advantage in total shots, with 13 shots on goal to the Eagles' nine.
Oklahoma Christian fell to 0-1-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference and 2-4-2 overall. The Stars improved to 1-1 in the SAC and 7-1-1 overall.
The Eagles play a non-conference game at Newman (Kan.) in Wichita at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
