OC Ties Oklahoma City

Oklahoma Christian tied nationally ranked Oklahoma City University 2-2 in a double overtime Sooner Athletic Conference game here Oct. 3.

The Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half against the 22nd ranked Stars on a pair of first half goals by junior Ivan Coco.

On the first goal, Coco received a long crossing pass from midfielder Jason Frei and headed the ball in for a score at 5:24. Less than a minute later Coco scored off a crossing ball from junior Brady Nikkel. OCU's goalkeeper hesitated and Coco touched in safely at 4:48.

OCU cam back to knot the score 2-2 with second half goals by Jesse Faily and Andy Taylor.

The Eagles' were unable to capitalize on several opportunities in the second half, including a breakaway attempt by Coco and a 25 yard shot from sophomore Phillip Hoover.

The tie left OC with a 1-1-1 conference record and 4-6-1 overall.
