Hilton's late goal nets 2-2 tie for OC against Rogers State

Neil Hilton's late goal gave OC a 2-2 tie Tuesday at Rogers State.

CLAREMORE, Okla. (Oct. 11, 2011) – Neil Hilton scored with less than five minutes remaining in regulation, allowing Oklahoma Christian to tie Rogers State 2-2 on Tuesday night at Soldier Field.

Rogers State (7-5-1, 2-2-1 Sooner Athletic Conference) received two goals from Mohammed Shaban, both in the first 21 minutes. The Hillcats held a one-goal lead for more than 65 minutes until Hilton converted a one-on-one opportunity against goalkeeper Jeremy Swift. It was Hilton's fifth goal this season.

OC (5-3-4, 1-2-2) didn't manage a shot during the two 10-minute overtime periods while Rogers State had only two. For the game, the Hillcats posted a 15-9 edge in shots.

Shaban scored less than two minutes into the game on an assist from Henrique Sousa. Trey Boykin equalized for the Eagles in the 15th minute, emerging from a scramble in front of the Rogers State goal and beating Swift. Boykin has a team-high seven goals this season for OC.

Shaban's second goal came off assists from Sousa and Tyler Rector.

OC goalkeeper Tim Spencer recorded four saves while Swift had two.

The Eagles will play four of their final five regular-season games at home, starting Saturday, when they host SAC rival John Brown.
