CHICKASHA, Okla. (Oct. 7, 2011) – Sooner Athletic Conference men's soccer power USAO had four different players score Friday as the Drovers rolled past Oklahoma Christian 5-1 at Drover Pitch.
Oklahoma Christian (5-3-3, 1-2-1 SAC) entered the game hopeful of knocking off a team which reached last season's NAIA quarterfinals, but USAO (7-2, 3-0) never let the Eagles in the game, as Graham Hunter scored in the third minute to put the Drovers ahead.
USAO extended its lead to 3-0 by halftime on goals by Dusan Rasovic in the 22nd minute and Niall Crick in the 44th minute. Any hopes Oklahoma Christian had of rallying ended in the 64th minute, when Hunter scored his second goal, giving the Drovers a 4-0 bulge.
OC's Joe Broam scored off an assist from Rodgers Otieno in the 84th minute, but the Drovers quickly answered with a goal by Jean Gnapi in the 89th minute.
USAO outshot the Eagles 16-11 and goalkeeper Tim Spencer had two saves for the Eagles. His USAO counterpart, Bryan Byars, made one save.
The Eagles will visit SAC rival Rogers State on Tuesday before returning home to play four of their final five regular-season games.
