OKLAHOMA CITY (March 7, 2013) – Blake Stringer, Garrett Guys and Markus Carr each had three hits as Oklahoma Christian finished with 15 hits and rolled past Heartland Conference foe McMurry (Texas) 13-2 in seven innings on Thursday afternoon at Dobson Field.

OC (8-7) also picked up a complete-game four-hitter from Tyler Sturges, who picked up his second pitching win of the week. Sturges (3-1), who pitched the final two innings in a 5-4 win over Tabor (Kan.) on Monday, struck out six and walked one.

The Eagles trailed 1-0 before posting a five-run third inning off McMurry starter Joel DePorte (0-1). OC had five of its hits in the inning, with two errors by the War Hawks sprinkled in. Guys and Cory Eastwood each had an RBI double during the outburst.

OC scored twice in the fourth to make it 7-1, then put the game away with a six-run, seven-hit sixth inning. Guys and Stringer delivered run-scoring doubles and Carr capped the inning with an RBI single to make it 13-2.

McMurry (8-11) scored once in the seventh but couldn’t avoid being run-ruled.

OC will host NAIA foe MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) in a 3 p.m. doubleheader on Friday, with the same two teams set to play another doubleheader at noon Saturday.
